Make just the milk you need

A splash for breakfast or a bottle for the next few days. A few simple habits for mixing milk your way.

Nimbus oat milk poured over a bowl of granola and berries

Some mornings call for a full bowl of cereal. Others need only a splash in your coffee. With milk powder, you choose the amount to mix, then leave the rest sealed in the pantry until you need it.

Start with the pouch

Different milk powders can have different scoop directions. Follow the instructions on your Nimbus pouch for the milk you are using, and measure the water and powder before you shake.

Choose a clean bottle with enough space to mix. A little room at the top makes shaking easier than filling it right to the brim.

Give it a moment

You can use the milk straight after mixing. Nimbus’s mixing guide also suggests resting it for 5–10 minutes, or overnight in the fridge, to let the powder rehydrate and the texture settle.

If you are making breakfast ahead of time, mix your milk while you prepare the rest. Give it another quick shake before pouring.

Keep the next batch simple

Prepared milk belongs in the fridge. Follow the storage and use-by directions on your pouch, keep your bottle clean and seal the dry powder tightly between uses.

Think about what you will actually use next: a coffee, a bowl of oats or a few drinks for the household. You can always shake up another batch.

  • Use a clean bottle and measuring scoop.
  • Shake prepared milk again before pouring.
  • Keep dry powder sealed and away from moisture.
  • Follow the product label for storage and use-by guidance.
